REVIEW

I actually forgot to include this product in my review posts... I'm so grandma. I was using it one night and I was like, why haven't I post a review on this? It's almost empty! So that's when I decided I have to write a full review on it. LOL.

A little background of the company, it is a brand under Maxwell Pharma Sdn Bhd. So I guess Maxwell Pharma is the manufacturer, exporter, importer etc of essential oils and stuff. Not sure because I cannot find any info on the company. Huhu. But the brand itself has their own philosophy, now let me share a bit from their "About Us" page.

"Garden of Eden’s philosophy is to be “The trusted specialist on effective natural remedies for health conscious consumers.” We do this by combining the power of plants, proven by science in a formulation that will penetrate quickly and deeply into the skin… for naturally radiant and beautiful skin – minus the chemicals."

We do this by ensuring our products are
Free from preservatives (ie. parabens) – Serum Treatment Range
Free from animal ingredients
Free from artificial fragrance (our products contain aroma only from 100% pure essential oils derived from plants)
Free from colouring
Free from alcohol
Free from mineral oil / paraffin oil / petrochemicals
Free from animal testing and cruelty

If you know me well, I'm all about paraben/mineral oil/alcohol free products. Not only that, their products are Halal-Certified by JAKIM. So muslims, lebih yakin kan? Huhu.

Okay, I bought the 5ml bottle just to try and see how it feels on my skin and whatnot and this 5ml bottle retails at RM39.40. I bought it at Guardian, so I'm not sure if it's available at Watson's or not because I couldn't find any links on its page. It also comes with a 15ml bottle, cost about RM76.45. Well, if you do the math of course the 15ml bottle is so much more worth it. Beza gila kot, over 2 bucks weh! But like I said earlier, I just wanted to try. Wasn't sure if I wanted this to be in my skincare routine.

5ml - RM39.40 (RM7.88/ml)
15ml - RM76.45 (RM5.09/ml)

So it comes in a bottle with a dropper. Since this is a 5ml bottle, it is like super cute and small. And let me be honest with you guys... The scent is not pleasant at all. It smells like... oil. Haha. It's not that bad but I don't know. I don't really like how it smells. Hahaha. So on the website FAQ, it mentioned that you don't really have to use moisturizer after you use the serum because it is an oil-based serum so it is moisturizing but if you still wanted to use moisturizer, apply after the serum.

Tiny little thang

Surprisingly, even after few days I don't get breakouts while using it. I read in their website, it is safe for sensitive skin as well! If you're struggling with acne, maybe you should try their Rosa T serum. Heard it's quite good.

I only use this in the nighttime because this is a pretty heavy oil. If I wanted to compare it with The Body Shop Vitamin Overnight Serum-in-Oil, The Body Shop one is lighter and more "watery" kinda oil, ya get what I mean? This Garden of Eden serum is like a very thick oil with strong scent of oil. Hahaha. I don't know how to explain it. LOL. I use it before but sometimes biasalah terlupa, after night cream and it does help with dryness around my mouth area and stuff.

Since I use it at nighttime with the night cream, it can be a bit oily in the morning but I don't really mind because then I know lah it works well in hydrating my skin? Haha. As far as the pigmentation goes, well to be honest I don't really see any difference. Well, I was stupid. I don't know why I bought this instead of scar serum. Pah fail big time. I don't really have pigmentations to begin with, I only buy it because it can reduce wrinkles but you know wrinkles are pretty hard to kick out okay?

The morning after I apply the serum, aku mesti macam haaahhh bestnyaaa. My skin feels plumped and well-moisturized. I think I like this a bit more than The Body Shop one. :O

I have been using this serum on and off since February and I just used this up... And it's June. And I bought the small bottle. :O Lama gila tahan!

Pros
Skin is plumped the next morning
Plant-based serum
Halal
5ml bottle can lasts up to 3-4 months
Does not clog pores (bongoknya Pah terletak kt cons plak -_-)

Cons
The scent is a bit unpleasant

Final thoughts: Even though it smells horrible, I honestly think it's a great serum. Yes, I don't see any difference but I feel like it's a great facial serum/oil for the skin ya know? Compared to other serums I have been eyeing, this Garden of Eden has quite affordable price. I certainly want to try other brands but for now maybe I should try the other range from this brand because it's quite good. Love it.

Rating: ★★★

So yeah. I hope you guys find this helpful in any way.

Thank you for reading! <3
