Current Skincare Routine - February 2017

Assalamualaikum and well hello hello my beautiful people!

Since there are some people asking me what is my skincare routine, I thought I would share with you guys. I have been using so many stuff these past few months/years now and it works well for me so yeah. I think I haven't share any skincare routine for such a long time, the last one was a post on how I prep my skin before my wedding... So if you guys wanna check that out, click here.

Also shared my skincare routine in February 2016! Wow it has been a year LOL

I'm sorry, I was supposed to post this yesterday but was super busy with life... So yeah.

Okay dah stop bebel, now we're gonna go right into it!

These products work on me really well, I cannot say the same thing for you guys so if you wanna try it, go ahead. Biasalah skincare ni semua kalau tak try, kita taktau dia okay ke tak. I have explained in my post about ingredients and semua tu that I do avoid some ingredients because some will cause cystic acnes on muh face. So.

I'm just gonna mention this again, just in case. Pffft.

I have oily combination skin, oily in the T-zone and quite dry around my mouth area (chin, around the lips). I used to have large pores but since I've been so strict with my skincare routine, it's not as visible as before. I don't use pore filling primers anymore. So that's a yay. My skin texture has become so much smoother, definitely so much better than before. I think the products that really made a lot of difference on my skin are serums and chemical exfoliants. Yes chemical exfoliants sounded pretty scary but trust me, they are WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY gentler than any physical scrubs in the market!

Oh and I'm not big on dogdy local beauty products yang tak dijual di farmasi atau any supermarket ke apa ke. So kalau takde, aku takkan beli. I have posted about this a year go. Go check it out here. Kalau ada orang tanya, "Habis Pah beli online tu authentic sangat ke?" Aku pakai dah dekat setahun dah, my skin memang much better than before... Tak cukup authentic kah?

Plus, if they're THAT good, kenapa macam makin banyak orang "VIRAL" kan tentang produk kecantikan ni berbahaya apa semua kan...? Memang lah time pakai elok apa semua, lepas tu bila stop pakai ramai pulak tu komplen kulit jadi makin teruk so kena sentiasa pakai. OMG, please don't. Don't even start using them! Korang kalau banyak duit takpe, boleh lagi pergi klinik buat laser treatment untuk treat kulit yang dah rosak tu. Nak spend on skincare ke nak spend untuk repair skin yang dah teruk? Hmm it all depends on you guys.

Aduh bunyi macam nak gaduh, tak gaduh pon sis. Sis cuma tak suka orang duk backing local products yang merbahaya tu. Kalau okay, okay lah. Ni yang whitening bagai tu eiii dah dah la pakai benda bahaya. Alang-alang kenapa tak pecahkan termometer tu ambik mercury dia sapu kat muka tengok boleh putih teruih ka dak haaaa kan eiiii sis geram.

Okay sis start now ye.

*********************************************

1. Products to remove my makeup

Don't be so terkejut, I have lots of different removers for different purposes. Takde lah banyak mana pon hahsidujkasdlka tapi tulah. Anyways, for my lazy days I just use makeup wipes because they're so convenient. My favourite has been the Simple Makeup Wipes, especially the Kind to Skin range. The Micellar range was okay jugak lah but since yang tu takde twinpack, aku just beli yang Kind to Skin. Power jugak wipes ni, I use it to remove my mascara and bammmm! Tapi kalau waterproof mascara memang payah sikit lah. The wipes are quite gentle on my skin so I don't have any issues with it. I have been using it for a couple of years now and I love it. Some people love the Biore Cleansing Oil - In Cotton, this one memang super effective in removing waterproof mascaras but it stings my eyes so heh....

Now, you guys know I loooove micellar/cleansing water so the one that I have been using now is the Garnier Micellar Water. I have both pink and blue bottle and tried them both and I don't have any issues with them. Just the usual cleansing water jelah. Nothing special. Pretty decent lah jugak and it's affordable. So yeah.

For my glam days or if I used waterproof mascara, I just use the Domesky Refreshing Cleansing Oil Marine Formula. For my face, I would use either Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Cleansing Oil or Senka Perfect Watery Oil. Hada Labo is for heavier makeup days and the Senka one is just for everyday because it has a lighter consistency than the Hada Labo one but both super effective in removing my makeup.

2. Cleanse, scrub, mask

So after all of that repetitive steps of removing my makeup (LOL), then of course I continue with cleansing my face. I am currently using the Paula's Choice RESIST Perfectly Balanced Cleanser. If you guys read my blog, then you would know I used the Philosophy Purity Cleanser and I mentioned that it's pricey blablabla and now that I'm using the Paula's Choice, it's damn pricey, it's even pricier than the Philosophy one but it's worth it. I know there are cleansers without SLS in drugstores and whatnot (eg Himalaya) but I really think the Paula's Choice cleanser is pretty worth it. It's so gentle and it doesn't have the scary ingredients that you have to watch out for. Anyways, after I almost done with the Philosophy Purity, I don't know why but I felt like I need to repurchase it. Towards the end, I actually started to love it more. I don't know what was up with me but I really did love it and I am planning to repurchase it once my PC cleanser has used up and I'm gonna purchase the PC Skin Balancing Cleanser just because it's much cheaper than the Resist one. I am that kind of person that likes to have multiple options on my counter ya know? I got bored with some products so easily so I usually rotate/alternate each product everyday. That's just my style.

Oh and I do have cleansers for daytime, like before solat ke or if I mandi again petang-petang but I don't want to use a very "clean" cleanser... Meaning I preferred a creamy cleanser in the day for my lazy days, like sometimes I am just super lazy to apply a heavy moisturizer so I use Sukin Cream Cleanser or Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. The Sukin cleanser is GREAT for dry skin because it is just soooooo creamy and moisturizing. I do enjoy using it. It didn't leave any extra residue, it is just my perfect in between day cleanser.

So at nighttime, I really love to go over the top sikit and you guys know I love my konjac sponge. Holy frack, who invented this thing? I can't stop using it! I am using the Sephora Collection Konjac Sponge, I talked about this for so many times now. This is like my second sponge, I used the first one until it was like what... 3-4 months I think? Yes, it didn't last that long but I'm okay with it as long as my face feels like a baby bum.

Then if I wanted to use a physical exfoliant, I would use my favourite The Body Shop Seaweed Pore Cleansing Exfoliator. Seriously, I cannot live without this. I haven't found any exfoliator as gentle as this. It is my holy grail. Believe it or not, this is my second tube. I bought this in September 2015 and still going strong. Hahaha. I rarely use this now since I am using chemical exfoliant. I should use this often but tulah kadang-kadang tak teringat. For this exfoliant, I am actually focusing more on my nose and cheeks area, where my larger pores reside basically but mostly around my nose lah.

For deep cleansing mask, I am only using the Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask. You guys know, I really love this mask. It's revolutionary for me at least. LOL. I am gonna purchase other mask because I've been using this for so long now, I think it's time for me to change but it's a really good mask. Love. It.

3. Tone, exfoliant, serum, moisturize

Now this is going to be the longest part in this blog. Hoho.

For toner, of course I'm still using this Nutox Astringent Toner. I might add another toner in my skincare routine for my nightime routine because the toner that I planned to buy is more moisturizing than this Nutox one. Huhu but we'll see how.

Now for this Bio-Essence 24k Bio-Gold - Gold Water, I am not sure whether to categorize it in the toner section or "serum" section. The consistency is definitely not like toner at all, I guess I'm gonna put it in the serum section. Anyways, there are lots of controversy goin' around about gold based products. Some says it's good, some says it's not beneficial at all. Maybe it's not but this Gold Water tho, I can't really say it's not working at all. It's definitely made my skin firmer and smoother. I believe in it, ever since I use this my skin has never been better. It could work for you, or it won't. You just have to keep on using it, I use it twice a day, day and night and it works wonderful on me. Since I've used it, I don't have to use pore filling primer anymore! How cool is that?!

Now, for chemical exfoliant I am currently using both AHA and BHA. AHA on alternate evenings, BHA once a week. So I actually started with Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, I use this since April 2016 and man, since I introduced it into my routine, my skin has always looks so much better! I'm not shitting you, I was like scared before using this and it is pretty drying so I have to be really careful with it.

Then end of last year, I decided to try Glycolic Acid products because I want something more gentle than the BHA exfoliant so I decided to buy the Alpha-H Liquid Gold With Glycolic Acid. So many people raving about it and I'm like, PAH GO GET IT. And hell, no ragrets weh. Of course it has tingling sensation but my skin doesn't feel super dry at all. I feel like my skin texture has been improved ever since I used both AHA and BHA. I did story story in details about AHA and BHA, so click here if you guys wanna know more.

Serum part. Currently I am using quite a number of serums. LOL. I have been using the Paula's Choice RESIST 10% Niacinamide Booster for a couple of months now then Wayne Goss was raving about The Ordinary Skincare and it offers Niacinamide as well so I was like, girrrrr I have to try it. I bought The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% along with the Rose Hip Oil, I'm gonna talk about it later. So between the PC's and The Ordinary's Niacinamide, both has different formula. I can't say which one is better because both has great ingredients. However, I feel like The Ordinary Niacinamide is more suitable to use at daytime since it has the Zinc 1% to reduce sebum production.

I recently received another batch of The Ordinary products and I'm currently using the Alpha Arbutin 2% + Hyaluronic Acid. So Arbutin is known to brighten skin complexion and also to fade any acne scars or dark spots. Function dia lebih kurang Vitamin C jugak lah and it is a much safer ingredient than other brightening ingredients out there, like mercury or hydroquinone. I'm still trying this out, so I can't really say it works or not but I will post a full review on it ya.

I also received a free trial sample of the Paula's Choice Resist C15 Super Booster, ada CNY promo on Worthee website so haruslah kan aku beli over RM200 untuk dapatkan benda ni oasjdlasjkdlkasdas. Again, still too early to tell but I think I can see lah that I look glowing.

(Update: 9/3/2017) Pah being Pah, I forgot to mention the serum in the photo above. OMG I'm dumb sometimes. Anyways. I am also currently using the Paula's Choice Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum. This is a great serum, it's a quick fix for your skin if your skin was looking pretty dull and mehhh. On the website, it mentioned that it has skin repairing ingredients and damn son, memang betul! But it contains Dimethicone and I did have breakouts for a few days but after that, my skin dah friend friend with the serum. I really love this serum, now it has a place in my routine. Of course I will story story more about it, I will post a full review on what I think of it and stuff okay?

So for day cream/moisturizer, I am currently using Paula's Choice Resist Super-Light Wrinkle Defense SPF30. I looooove this moisturizer + SPF. I purchased another SPF from Paula's Choice jugak and it's the Paula's Choice Resist Youth-Extending Daily Fluid SPF50 and I will update you guys of course. Huhuhu. But I think I'm gonna keep using PC's SPF until I find a great, cheaper SPF. But I doubt I could find something better than this. I baru je try The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + Hyaluronic Acid, this one, well, self explanatory lah. LOL. It's a moisturizer. It's quite thick actually so I pakai time malas-malas kat rumah and it's quite moisturizing. I need to test it out more then baru boleh recommend is it suitable for all skin types ke apa ke kan. Gituuuu

I have 2 different moisturizers that I put in my travel/solat makeup bag, I have the Natural Being Manuka Honey Day Cream (Oily/Normal) and Nutox Moisture Emulsion SPF25. I use the Natural Being moisturizer on my dry area, which is my chin and mouth area and the Nutox moisturizer all over my face because after 2pm also still need SPF maa.

Now for nightime, memang basic gila. I just use The Body Shop Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream (yes I repurchased it again) and some face oil if I need to feel luxurious. Well I need to feel luxurious every night okay. LOL. My favourite face oil currently are the Lipidol Overnight Face Oil and The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil. To be honest I haven't used the Lipidil oil since I started using the rosehip oil. I really love it. It smells horrendous but it's like, it gave me some kind of power. HAHAHA. Muka jadi supple gila kot. LOVE. I don't know how to explain it. It's very the good. Highly recommend it, any rosehip oil is fricking awesome. Just try them, please. Oh my god. Hahahaha.

4. Eye creams

I have 2 eye creams that I've been using, first is the Nutox Eye Refiner and Sukin Antioxidant Eye Serum. For daytime I'm using the Nutox and at night I'm using the Sukin one. I'm not so sure if they actually works or made any differences, I'm not sure okay. But my eyes aren't that super wrinkly pon so maybe dia okay kot? I don't know man. LOL

You guys okay? Pening dah ke?

Okay now I'm gonna story story on which products I use first in my routine blablabla.

So yeah. Summary:

Daytime routine: Cleanser, toner, serum, eye cream, moisturizer+spf, makeup

Midday routine: Makeup wipes, cleanser, moisturizer+spf, makeup

Night time routine: Cleanser, toner, serum, eye cream, night cream, face oil

Haaaa macam tulah. Nampak macam banyak tapi this is what works for me. Aku tak pakai essence/ampoule sangat sebab I'm not really into Korean skincare except for their sheet masks, holy frack, I cannot live without them. Haaa. Tapi tulah benda ni memang trial and error, tak cuba tak tahu. Aku nak advise macam-macam pon I'm not the right person. I can give you my opinion tapi jangan ambik 100% lah tu je.

Okay I guess that is all for tonight.

Panjang akak type ni. Penat tau,

Thanks for reading hahaha

Stay gorgeous <3

  1. I agree jugak about the local products tu. To me, kalau produk tu tak listkan full ingredients die, tak payahla beli. Even claim ada KKM bagai. Gold water tu mcm menarik pulak. Kne tunggu offer la. Hehe
