Review: Mario Badescu Temporary Lifting Mask

Assalamualaikum and hello my lovely peopleeeeee

I've raved about this mask like a month ago on Twitter and I actually forgot to write a review on it. Huh. Don't know why LOL. Anyways. Today I wanna share my full thoughts on this Mario Badescu Temporary Lifting Mask. So yeah let's get on it!~

Temporary Lifting Mask is a great special occasion mask that immediately tightens, cleans and refines skin. Formulated with Egg Albumin, a traditional, natural mask ingredient that firms, minimizes pores and improves skin's appearance. This mask is ideal for any skin type needing a quick boost for a special event or for regular use on skin with enlarged pores and congestion.

Immediate firming effects
Tightens large pores
Revitalises congested and dull skin

How to use:
Apply a thin layer of mask on clean skin avoiding eye area. Wait 10 minutes and rinse with tepid water. Follow with moisturizer. May be used several times a month or before special occasions.

Deionized Water (Aqua), Calamine, Wheat (Triticum Vulgare) Starch, Egg Albumin, Sorbitol, Zinc Oxide, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Rose (Rosa Multiflora Fruit) Extract

Okay so hehe. Mesti ada story. I have 10% off coupon on Luxola that I received for my birthday... Pfffft. Sikit je... So I was just browsing and this is the only Mario Badescu mask that is affordable. Hahahaha. Not that cheap la but it was around RM69 (Think it was cheaper before Luxola jadi Sephora) and I was like, bitch I need to buy that mofo. I don't even do research online or read some reviews. I know, stupid right? The "compulsive buying" in me is just need to get the heck out. Haha.

This is my first purchase of Mario Badescu product. I've heard so many good reviews on their product so I would love to give it a try. The jar is just an average jar like all of the Mario Badescu's jars. LOL. It has 59ml (2oz) of product, which is okay. For the price I pay, which was RM47.50 (NP: RM69), it was okay lah. It was about RM0.80/ml (NP: RM1.17/ml), a bit cheaper than the Innisfree Super Volcanic Mousse Mask that costs about RM70 (100ml) so it was about RM1.42/ml. They're not that different, the functions pun almost similar. Plus, you don't really need to use a lot of product for both masks but hey, you be the judge. For me, sama je because both of them macam a little goes a long way ya know?

First impression: Strong rose scent, also has a hint of iron/zinc/calamine smell. Not strong but it's there. Also, pink/peach in color. Face is super tight when applied. Immediate result after first time applied the mask.

Oh my god. You guys. I'm not shitting you, first time I applied it and after I wash it off, my goodness, my face feels sooooooooo fricking smooooooooootttthhhhh. I have never tried a lifting mask before but thiz goodz. But but, after I used it like couple of weeks, I started to get cystic acne on my cheeks. Everytime I used it, I got cystic acnes. Few times jugak lah. I wasn't sure if it's hormonal acne or not but it was pretty bad. So I stopped.

Then last few days, I applied it again because I miss that smooth feel on muh face because my skin is just won't cooperate with me now and bammm! Felt so fricking great and I did not breakout the next day. So it could be hormonal acne before this... I hope it is. LOL. But I totally falling in love with it back again. It really makes your skin lifted and firmed and glowy, so when you apply makeup, you'd have the most flawless base ever!

Forgot to mention on how long does the "lifting" lasts? On my skin, it was like more than 20 hours but 20 hours mark tu, it's not like super smooth like when you applied it in the first hour. My skin still felt smooth after 32 hours. So yeah. For a "temporary lifting" mask, that's quite long...

So let's go over the "benefit" by what it claims to do:-
Immediate firming effects - Uhm YASSS
Tightens large pores - YAAASSSSS
Revitalises congested and dull skin - Super duper YAAAAASSSSS

Pros: Firm and tighten everything on your face, great for quick fix for special events (use the night before or before you apply your makeup), a little goes a long way

Cons: Strong scent, super. The scent is quite unpleasant to be honest.

Final thoughts: Well, you know what I'm going to say right? I fricking love this mask. Even if it's going to break me out but I hope it won't happen anymore. Ahhh I don't know what to say! It's damn good! Surprisingly on, all of the reviews are quite positive and most of the ratings are 4-5 stars. It's so goodz. I highly recommend this mask if you are maybe always go to special events and need quick fix or maybe if you're a makeup artist and you wanna use it on your clients, I think should be okay as the ingredients are not harmful at all. The only cons is the scent. If you can handle it then yeah. Go buy this baby. It's super awesome! Worth every penny!

Rating: ★★★★★ (I love both Innisfree and Mario Badescu okay? Ahsjkdasdlas)

So yeah. Hope you guys find this helpful in any way.

Thank you for readin' yall.
