Review: The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil

Assalamualaikum and hello my lovely Pah people!

I have been slacking, I know. Hahaha. Everything is just overwhelming, I don't know man. Just busy with life. Pffft so many excuses. Anyways, I have been using The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil for quite some time now and well, I just need to share with you guys so yeah. Jommm

PRODUCT INFO

This formulation uses 100% pure Rosehip Seed Oil that is both cold-pressed and organic. Rosehip Seed Oil is rich in linoleic acid, linolenic acid and pro-vitamin A, all of which degrade when the oil extraction process involves heat. While cold-pressed extraction is complex, it preserves all of the quality of this important oil which has been shown to reduce signs of photo-ageing and many other skin conditions.

Note: Supplied in UV-protective packaging.

Directions
Apply once a day to the face, ideally at bedtime after application of water-based treatments.

REVIEW

If you read my post before about the Garden of Eden Rosa E Pigmentation Serum, then you guys would know I really love rosehip oil. I mean basically all rosehip oils are the same maybe? LOL whatever. Let me copy paste some info about rosehip oil.

"Rose hip oil comes from the seeds of a specific variety of rose, Rosa aff. rubiginosa or Rosa moschata. A cold-press extraction method separates the oil from the hips and seeds. The delicate oil needs refrigerated or stored in a cool, dark location to prevent rancidity. For facial skin care, rose hip oil offers several benefits when applied externally due to its primary constituents: essential fatty acids, vitamin E, vitamin C and B-carotene, a form of vitamin A."

Yellow-ish watery oil, smells like 🐟

So let me story story about the texture, smell etc. So the texture of this rosehip oil is actually pretty light. Tengok kaler dia macam takut kan? But it's like a watery oil, very light to the touch. But but but, the smell is horrendous. If you're used to rosehip oil then you would know how they smelled like, literally like fricking fish oil. But it wasn't too bad lah, I got used to it after few weeks and now takde lah macam geli sangat nak taruk kat muka 😅 It is a dry oil so it absorbs quickly into the skin. My skin feels so supple in the morning and surprisingly tak oily macam biasa! I put a lot of moisturizing products on my face at night and my face tak melekit, tak berlengaih langsung the next morning!

So basically rosehip oil has a lot of benefits for your skin and it is suitable for oily, acne prone skin type peeps! I have been using it for more than 2-3 months and I'm not experiencing any breakouts at all. I basically drenched my face in this oil because it has been helping a lot with my hyperpigmentation and all. Well, of course 2-3 drops of rosehip oil is totally enough for the whole face. I have been using it every single day for the past 2 months and baru macam 15% je aku pakai. (I lied, dah separuh aku pakai sebenarnya tapi tulah Pah got confused with other stuff hahasuidjhakdasd)

**If you easily get breakouts, I don't recommend rosehip oil. Only after your acne dah kurang baru boleh pakai ni, takut acne jadi lagi teruk je

Sometimes if I'm feeling super extra, I would mix rosehip oil with the Lipidol Overnight Face Oil and oh my god I feel like a rich bitch because my face is so rich with great oils and stuff so yeah. LOVE. You can mix the rosehip oil with anything, your creams, lotions whatever. It's damn good! I did mixed it with foundation once and surprisingly my foundation worked the same way je. Takde lah muka jadi oily gila ke apa ke, memang jadi flawless kejap masa apply tu. I haven't try it again and maybe I will do it again soon and try tengok boleh tahan lama ke tak. Hoho. Of course I will update you guys hihi

I have other serums to reduce pigmentation as well and I'm pretty sure the combination of them all makes it more effective I guess? I personally didn't see any differences but a friend on Twitter mentioned it, she was like "eh nampak dah kurang pigmentation dah" and bila belek-belek muka pun memang dah rasa kurang banyak berbanding few months ago gitu.

Pros
Affordable
A little goes a long way
Prevent and reduce acne scars
Reduce pigmentation

Cons
Smelly (smells like fish oil)
Easily to go rancid (make sure you keep it in a dark, cool place)

Final thoughts: I looooove rosehip oil. I think it's an amazing product. I can see my pigmentation is not that bad is before and my complexion is just getting so much better and better. I rarely have breakouts now, I don't know if rosehip oil actually helps with that or not but my skin has definitely gotten so much better. Uhhh loooovvvveeeee <3 Highly recommended for my oily, acne prone skin peeps. This is the best face oil to reduce acne scars/pigmentation without using chemicals yang pelik-pelik (if you're more of a natural kinda gal)

Rating: ★★★★★
