Review: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer

So we have been waiting for so long for this Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer to arrive in Malaysia and finally it has arrived! There was so much hype on this concealer so is it really that great? Let's fricking start.

WHAT IT IS
Instant Age Rewind® Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer. The eye area appears radiant and refreshed in no time.

BENEFITS
This super-concentrated treatment concealer features a micro-corrector applicator to help instantly erase dark circles and fine lines. Infused with goji berry and Haloxyl™.

HOW TO USE/APPLY
Step 1. Twist collar of the Micro-Corrector Applicator in the direction of arrows until the concealer is visible on the sponge (it may take some turns on first use). Step 2. Using the applicator, apply concealer directly to the under-eye area, blending in an outward motion. Step 3. For extreme dark circles, apply the Neutralizer shade under concealer shade. Step 4. To add a luminous touch, apply the Brightener shade to the inner corner of eyes, cheek and brow bones and, bridge of the nose.

REVIEW

I've actually seen some girls already bought this online but then I saw someone's snapchat that this concealer already arrived in Malaysia and I'm like hmm is it dat good tho? So I went to the nearest Guardian and I saw it and I put in my basket and when I wanted to pay for it, the code wasn't in the system so I'm like a bit pissed and I said to the cashier, if it's new and not in the system, you shouldn't put it on display. Then the girl apologized and she asked me to come back, NEXT WEEK. I'm like, hell nah man ain't nobody got time for that. So that night jugak aku beli dekat Gemfive. Don't worry, Gemfive is totally reliable. It was sold and fulfilled by L'Oreal Malaysia, ala Gemfive ni macam Zalora, Lelong, Lazada jugak lah.

So I actually bought 2, silly Pah bought 2 same shade sebab takut Medium too dark so takut takkan pakai. LOL. In Malaysia, there are only 2 shades available, Light and Medium. I didn't get the chance to swatch them so I'm not sure how they look on my skin. Hari tu pon aku gamble je beli Light. Usually lighter shades are okay on me but not too light lah, for your reference I am in NC25 (Mac).

So this concealer is a bit different than other concealers that I have, I think most of my concealers come in a tube form, with a wand and a pump. (Hey I posted my makeup stash concealers long ago, if you wanna check it out, click here he he he *wink*) You actually have to twist it and product will come out of the sponge. Now, some people said it's unhygienic I also quite geli to dab it again on my face. I actually never try washing it. I don't know how I should take the sponge off and I don't know if you can stick the sponge back on? I don't know man. I'm not gonna risk it. LOL. I'm just gonna spot clean like I always do. Hahaha.


Unblended and blended

It has a quite nice coverage, it's definitely not a full coverage concealer but I can just use this alone if I'm lazy to wear foundations and all. On my skin, it is a bit dewy so I have to set it. Like I said, I didn't remove the sponge so I'm not sure what kind of texture it has but it has a quite thin consistency and easy to blend.


Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer on the right side of my face (your left side). As you can see, it covers my redness pretty well but for my dark circles, not so much but still covers a bit so yeah. It's good enough for me.

Is it long-lasting? Well, I did my usual skincare routine - Nutox Astringent Toner, Bio-Essence Gold Water, Paula's Choice Resist Super-Light Wrinkle Defense SPF30 and then I apply foundation or concealer. Like I said, on my lazy days when I skip foundations, I would use concealers and this concealer is quite long lasting on me. It does not fade through out the day. Amazing! Normally, I get around 3-4 hours and then of course redness peeking through and whatnot.

Maybelline products are not that affordable but this concealer, the price is acceptable. Even in the US pon it's about USD7-9 and our currency pon dropping (USD1 = RM4.13 as of 20 Sep) so RM34.90 is the best price you could get. I saw some personal shoppers on Instagram sell them for almost RM50 or even higher for shipping la apa lah.

Good medium coverage concealer
Does not melt/fade through out the day

Cons
"Unhygienic"
A bit pricey for drugstore in Malaysia

Final thoughts: I actually like this concealer. It's not as bad as what I expected. It's not like super amazing or any better than LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealers but still, it has a great formula and I think you guys should try it. It covers stuff on your face pretty well, so yeah. Highly recommended!
