Q&A: Regimen Guide for The Ordinary

Assalamualaikum and hello my beautiful Papoters hahsdoajsdl

Recently I get asked so many questions about how I build my routine (basically my regime). So I'm here to answer the burning question.

Oh and I do apologize for the lack of updates, wow, I'm like super busy, I just update my Instagram je so you guys can follow me on Instagram kalau nak baca a short review ke apa ke haaaa ok ok?

Regimen Guide on The Ordinary website memang tak detail mana pon. But you guys can actually email them on what products do they recommend for certain skin types, how to build your routine. I do get a lot of questions on this jugak so I'm just gonna write here semua, so you guys can view kat sini je senang aku takyah explain banyak kali. Jiajskldasd sis tak marah, sis cuma terlupa nak post benda ni je, kalau tak dah save me a lot of time kan asuidjoaklsdas

So here's The Ordinary punya regimen guide: CLICK HERE

So benda ni berbalik kepada your skin types, I'm not gonna go any further, you can read my previous post sini: CLICK HERE

Okay, so I'm gonna share my routine dulu. I have oily/dehydrated skin, so I'm looking for hydration. Gitu sis. Are you ready? I'm gonna list down everything that I'm using from The Ordinary. Are you ready, B? Tenenet tewtewtew

My AM routine simple je, I use less serums because some serums can make my skin feels really sticky so me no likey. Usually for AM, I would use serums for reducing my oiliness (AGS 12% + Niacinamide 10%) and Hydrating Lotion for hydration. That's all.

For PM memang my routine is quite heavy actually. Usually I ikut mood lah, mana nak taruk but my routine has been the same, dah few months dah tak tukar-tukar cuma tambah-tambah perisa sikit je hihi

PM routine: Hada Labo Premium Hydrating Lotion, alternating between The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution (AHA) / Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant (BHA) / The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% + HA (AHA), The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA, The Ordinary "Buffet", The Ordinary Alpha Lipoic Acid 5% (2-3 times in a week), The Ordinary Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10%, The Body Shop Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream

So I explained in my active ingredients post, I alternate AHA & BHA so basically I would use acid every single night. My PM routine is not fixed pon, sometimes I feel like putting on MAP 10%, sometimes I don't. Eh Pah, tang bila pakai The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution? Yang tu biasanya sis pakai bila-bila sis nak and I will exclude leave on AHA/BHA in my routine. Sometimes kalau nak extra, sis apply jugak AHA toner tapi pedih sikit lah.

So far korang okay tak? Faham tak? A bit confusing ke?

Okay ada jugak tanya, mana nak taruk dulu. Biasanya the lightest form dulu. Ahhh, korang boleh check kat internet okay. Sis rasa semua orang tau kot. But kalau korang refer regimen guide kat website tu pon ada tulis water solution letak dulu, pastu baru emulsion lah cream lah apa bagai tu haaaa. Sis tak ikut tang Hydrating Lotion je. Sebab yang tu macam gel, but I letak dulu sebab I takut kulit I irritated kalau terus letak Glycolic toner. Korang nak buat macam mana pon that's totally up to you. Kalau nak kata tak berkesan, sis pakai okay je, I have good skin weeks kot. WEEKS.

Okay so here are my routine recommendations for beginners ya. Korang tak semestinya kena follow 100%, nak susun macam mana sekali pon. YOU DO YOU GIRL

Now first things first, if you haven't ever use any acid please be cautious. You need to moisturize well and you also need to use sunscreen okay? Jangan malas. Nak kulit brighten tapi tak pakai sunscreen macam mano wei.

Oh one more thing, baca dulu product info okay? Sebab sis malas nak letak details apa semua ok? And this one aku taknak letak advanced sangat. Aku letak simple-simple je so korang boleh add on apa yang korang nak okay? :)

Recommend PM routine: Hydrating toner, TO Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, TO Squalane, TO NMF

*I don't really recommend NMF if you have super duper dry skin but for sensitive skin, it's really really good.

Of course you can use AHA, but the mildest AHA would be TO Lactic Acid 5% + HA, but maybe don't use it everyday. 2-3 times per week should be enough.

Dry/Aging skin

Recommended AM routine: Hydrating toner, TO "Buffet"/TO Matrixyl 10%, NMF, Sunscreen

Recommended PM routine: Hydrating toner, TO "Buffet"/TO Matrixyl 10%, TO Rosehip Seed Oil, TO Retinol 1%, moisturizer

NOTES: If you wanna incorporate Vitamin C in your routine, go ahead. Do as you please.

Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% - after water solution
Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% - after toner, before oil/cream
Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F - after water solution
Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate Solution 10% - after water solution

So contraindications. Yang ni kalau nak citer memang panjang but I dah sembang benda tu dalam post Active Ingredients tu so you guys can check that out.

Ada jugak yang tanya boleh ke pakai benda ni dengan benda tu. Haaa penat nak menjawab, tapi from my point of view, boleh je. As long as macam katalah Niacinamide and Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid only). Yang ni kan macam orang kepoh cakap takleh bagai. In my opinion, boleh je. Let's say ko pakai Niacinamide dulu then korang apply Alpha Arbutin ke. Let it for few minutes, boleh je apply Vitamic C. Macam AHA BHA jugak lah, biasa for chemical exfoliant memang I will let it sink into my skin for few minutes. Ada orang biar 30 minutes, tapi aku malas nak tunggu lama-lama. Aku pakai agak je, kalau dah macam kulit jadi smooth and soft, aku sapu lah serum apa semua. I sometimes use acid and vitamin C pon takde apalah. Yang rasa tu stinging jela. Hahahoadijaskldasd. Kalau boleh tahan, tahan. Biasa stinging sat ja. So semua ni bergantung pada you all lah.

If you guys nak follow my current skincare routine pon boleh, I mean not bulat-bulat lah just ambik yang mana applicable lah kan. Haaaaa.

So yeah. That's my recommendations only tau. Tak perlu follow bulat-bulat pon. YOU DO YOU GURL. Kalau ikut deciem, depa kata max 3 serums je in 1 routine. So ikut korang lah nak buat macam mana pun. But if you have more questions, please do whatsapp or tweet me or whatever. Kalau I boleh jawab, I jawab okay?
